Wafaa Abu Hammour is a researcher at the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) in Jordan, working in the Climate Change and Environment Directorate. She has more than 12 years of professional experience in climate change, drought monitoring, remote sensing, GIS, and environmental research. She holds an MSc in Climate Change and Environment from the University of Jordan, where her research focused on assessing the impacts of climate change on the Water–Energy–Food (WEF) Nexus using remote sensing techniques. Throughout her career, she has contributed to several national and international projects related to climate resilience, drought early warning systems, seasonal forecasting, environmental governance, and the WEFE Nexus.
As a SAGE Fellow, Wafaa is pursuing her PhD through the University of Augsburg and KIT under the supervision of Prof. Harald Kunstmann, with technical supervision from Christof Lorenz. Her research focuses on climate and drought prediction, seasonal forecasting, and developing science-based tools to support climate adaptation and decision-making in water-scarce regions.
