Husam Al-Khatib is a researcher specializing in water resources and the environment. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Water Resources and Environment from the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). Throughout his career, he has gained valuable professional experience working on environmental and humanitarian initiatives with international organizations such as Oxfam, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and Action Against Hunger. His professional and academic work focuses on applying data-driven computational modeling and machine learning to solve complex environmental, wastewater, and water quality challenges.
As a SAGE Fellow, Husam is pursuing his PhD at the University of Kassel under the supervision of Prof. Matthias Gassmann. His current research utilizes predictive analytics to assess risks from emerging contaminants and establish sustainable mitigation frameworks for Jordan’s irrigation water.
