Jens Lange is a professor of hydrology at the University of Freiburg, Germany. His main research focus is on hydrological processes, water quality, pollutants and hydrological tracers. For more than 25 years he has worked in various research projects in the Middle East. Thereby, he studied different aspects of the dryland hydrology including runoff generation, groundwater recharge and urban hydrology. He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed papers (h = 33) and is active in all fields of academia.
