D1: The Mashriq region: Climate-related Governance and Ethics in Conflict-Affected Contexts

This research project examines how climate governance and ethical principles evolve in contexts shaped by conflict, institutional fragility, displacement, and unequal access to resources. The project focuses on questions of climate justice, responsibility, legitimacy, and fair adaptation, with particular attention to how different actors understand and justify climate-related decisions in crisis settings. Methodologically, the research will use qualitative approaches, including policy and document analysis, discourse analysis, semi-structured interviews, and comparative case study methods.
